Why professional whitening?
Over-the-counter strips and toothpastes use lower-strength ingredients and one-size-fits-all trays, so results are limited and uneven. Professional whitening uses stronger gel under a dentist's supervision, fitted to your teeth, which gives a more noticeable, even result and lets us manage sensitivity along the way.

Who is whitening right for?
Whitening works well on yellowish stains from food, drinks, smoking and age. It's less effective on grayish stains from certain medications or a tooth that darkened after an injury. Those may respond better to bonding or veneers. Whitening isn't recommended during pregnancy or for young children.
Crowns, fillings and veneers don't whiten
Whitening lightens natural enamel only. If you have crowns or tooth-colored fillings on front teeth, they won't change color. If you're planning other cosmetic work, it's usually best to whiten first so new restorations can be matched to your brighter shade. See cosmetic dentistry for veneers and bonding.
Insurance and cost
Most dental insurance plans don't cover whitening because it's cosmetic. We'll give you clear, upfront pricing before you start. New patients without insurance can start with our $99 exam and X-rays.
